PS4 release rumours surface

Sony PlayStation 4(PS4) release rumours are picking up speed at the onset of Christmas despite any official announcement from the Japanese conglomerate. PS4 console has become the much-awaited gaming hand-held device after Nintendo Wii U launched to great reception from the members of the gaming and non-gaming community as well.

The next generation gaming console from Sony is speculated to be called ‘Orbis’, which might turn out to be the real name of the console. PS4 is rumoured to be released in the next year with reports suggesting that Sony might release the gaming console before Microsoft launches its gaming device, Xbox 720.

Sony might be looking to provide an unique and exhilarating experience for the users as rumours suggest that the Japanese conglomerate plans to introduce 4K gaming along with full HD 1080p 3D support features. PS4 is speculated to operate on an AMD A10 APU, provide 8GB or 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a Blu-ray drive.

PS4 is alleged not to support games from the previous variants of the gaming console unlike PS3. With the release of PS4, Sony is reported to root out second hand games by tying the PS4 games to the users’ Sony Entertainment Network account and thus negating any resale value of the games.

There have been rumours about a possible partnership between Sony and Google for PS4 as Sony’s fondness for Android is well-known. Some speculations hint towards a 32nm Cell processor, which is double of what exists in PS3, but nothing can be set in stone. With speculations flaring around PS4, what are your expectations from Sony?
